This year, everyone can intuitively feel the frequency of extreme weather, and the news frequently reports landslide, flood, rainstorm, flood, tornado, etc. As a key component of the power system, the safe operation of substations is crucial for the entire power supply system.

However, due to the fact that the substation is filled with electronic devices and extremely sensitive to water, if water immersion occurs and is not detected and treated immediately, missing the best remedial opportunity may lead to large-scale equipment failures and power outages.

Therefore, establishing an effective substation water immersion monitoring system mainly focuses on real-time monitoring and early warning of potential water accumulation and leakage in low-lying areas, cable trenches, distribution rooms, and other important electrical equipment locations within the substation. This is of great significance for improving the safety management level of the substation and ensuring the stable operation of the power system.

The substation flooding monitoring system mainly consists of flooding sensors, data acquisition modules, communication transmission equipment, and monitoring platforms.

1. Water immersion sensor: Pre installed in locations where water immersion risks may occur. When water leakage or seepage occurs in the monitoring area, an alarm signal will be immediately triggered. Water immersion sensors have the main characteristics of high sensitivity and stability, which can detect potential water immersion problems in the early stages and prevent serious accidents in advance.

2. Data collection module: When the sensor detects water immersion, it will immediately send the data to the data collection module, which performs preliminary processing and summarization of various types of data.

3. Communication transmission equipment: Communication transmission equipment uploads real-time data information collected through RS485, dry contacts, 4G, LORA and other communication methods to the monitoring center, achieving remote monitoring and analysis of data.

4. Monitoring platform: Real time display of the water immersion status of each monitoring point. Once an alarm occurs, the system will notify relevant personnel through various means such as sound and light, text messages, and phone calls to ensure timely response and handling. Most monitoring platforms are compatible and can simultaneously monitor data such as IoT water immersion, smoke detection, temperature and humidity.
